Position Title: Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable role is responsible for all aspects of the Accounts Payable process for Control Devices in addition to general accounting duties.

Essential Job Duties:

• Complete invoice voucher process including three-way match and/or facilitation of appropriate expense approvals.
• Manage Kofax Accounts Payable software and electronic document retention.
• Processes timely and accurate payments of vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements, prioritizing invoices according to cash discount strategy and payment terms.
• Assists with month-end financial statement closing, to include journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Monitors general ledger activity to ensure accurate processing and recording of company financial transactions including revenue and receivables, consignment transactions, manufacturing and administrative expenses, etc.
• Assists with internal and external audit processes.
• Generates required annual 1099 Tax forms.
• Serves as backup for Office Assistant.
• Coordinates and maintains offsite document storage, utilizing federal retention requirements.
• Primary role in annual physical inventory.
• Ad hoc special projects as required.

Required Experience:

• 2+ years of related accounting/financial experience
• Ability to prioritize daily issues
• Intermediate level use of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with people at all levels within the organization and with external suppliers
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment
• Attention to detail

Desired Education:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field preferred

Desired Experience:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience using Macola ERP
• Skilled at building external and internal relationships
• Understanding of manufacture flow in a discrete production environment
• Understanding of Bills of Materials
• Strong analytical skills
