POSITION SUMMARY:

 

 

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for performing and reviewing various financial analysis including but not limited to costing, sales and margin reporting for the Company.  They will also be key in assisting the CFO in various forecasting and reporting requirements.  This role will own variance analysis and profitability reviews for the company as well as being actively involved in the Company S&OP process.  Key resource for company wide analysis.

 

 

KEY RESULT AREAS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

         Analyze forecast trends and generate sales forecasts using customer provided and historical data.

         Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead cost against standard/budget. Research and explain variances. Report this information monthly or as needed.

         Perform various analytical reviews for the Company identifying areas of overall improvement and opportunities

         Perform ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support Operations and Sales.

         Facilitate process to obtain forecast inputs from Sales team and customers to provide best forecasts for conversion into demand plans that drive the supply chain process.

         Develop, monitor and communicate reports on forecast accuracy to leadership team and supply chain organization.

         Lead the monthly review of purchase price variances.

         Lead by item gross margin reviews

         Work with CFO and Controller to implement cost accounting policies and procedures.

         Assist in the development of labor and overhead rates, budget, and forecasts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

 

         A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.

         MBA, CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

 

The fully qualified candidate will possess a strong knowledge of financial and cost accounting. He or she will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial analyst or cost accounting role. The candidate will have a proven ability to understand cost accounting, financial analysis and interpret data to present to upper-level management.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

         Problem Solving: Asks good questions and probes all potential sources for answers; able to evaluate all sides of an issue and independently develop creative solutions to difficult problems; looks beyond obvious surface solutions and does not stop at first answer. Ability to analyze data / reports and provide corrective actions / recommendations.

         Technical Skills: Sound understanding of accounting concepts.

         Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, with advanced Excel user capability (Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc.) required.  Knowledge of advanced ERP systems (preferably Macola EM10) and SQL reporting capability is a plus.

         Communication Skills: Strong writing and speaking skills; can articulate information clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings.

         Judgment: Makes good decisions in a timely manner based on analysis and experience; track record of making solid suggestions and decisions over time.  Self-starter with the ability to work independently

         Team Orientation: Relates well to people inside and outside the organization; is accessible and develops rapport; listens, builds constructive and effective relationships using diplomacy and tact; commands credibility by treating people with respect; trustworthy.
