Supervises the daily work schedules of warehouse employees involved in performing a combination of: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking, packing and palletizing finished products. Determines space requirements for storage and schedules delivery and distribution of products, parts, and accessories to achieve distribution objectives and meet customer requirements. Prepares and analyzes inventory reports to identify slow-moving and/or surplus stock. Ensures maintenance of equipment and a safe, clean environment. Recommends changes in procedures to improve the operating efficiency of the department.


This is a 2nd shift position.



Control Devices, LLC ("Control Devices" or "CD") is a leading designer and manufacturer of high quality flow control valves, condensate removal traps, related components and accessories serving the compressed air, pressure washer, vehicle systems, fire protection, specialty gas, and the industrial, agricultural and food service float valve markets.  CD prides itself in the ability to design, innovate and manufacture flow control valves for custom applications and offers a line of standard products that has grown over the years.  CD is based in Saint Louis, MO and its products are sold on a global basis to O.E.M's, Distributors and End Users.  


Control Devices is a privately owned company with a very seasoned management team focused on organic sales growth with existing products and new revenue growth through acquisitions.






Supervise processes, personnel and procedures in the shipping and receiving department. 

 Records time, date, quantity, source, and destination of materials received or shipped. 

Oversees the inspection of goods received and ensures that goods are verified against records of shipment.

Supervises the maintenance of records of damaged or defective items and discrepancies in quantities and weights.

 Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conditions of shipments.

 Calculates estimated costs associated with the shipping/delivery function and recommends appropriate alternatives.

Prepares management reports, other standard reports, and ad hoc reports as needed.

Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside services for repair.

Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving staging area to freight carriers, stock, or work areas.

  Plans, organizes, and supervises the delivery function of the department ensuring timely and efficient delivery of high quality products.

Works effectively with drivers/customers to schedule deliveries and pick-ups.

 Ensures the cost effectiveness of the shipping and receiving functions including the control of labor utilization'preventing excess hours, downtime and overtime, and efficient usage of transportation related equipment. 

Coach and train personnel.

Other duties as assigned.






         A high school diploma/GED; college degree preferred.



         Minimum of 3-5 years experience working in shipping and receiving.

         Minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience.

         Other special training relevant to the position.

         A solid understanding of shipping operations and associated processes.

         Ability to drive a truck and forklift (will need to be certified)

         Understand Import and Export documentation.

         Experience with domestic and international shipping 



         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

         Proficiency in Macola.

         Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.

         Demonstrated strong analytical skills in data analysis and reporting.

         Ability to Supervise and manage resources.

         Flexible scheduling




         Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
